SEEKING ENGINE
Most often, when we want to search for a name, company, a specific area of interest, we do not know the address of the site, it is just as when we want to call a friend on the phone and we do not know the person's address. There are useful sites that make the search on our behalf. These sites are called seeking engines.
There are many of them within the web and the addresses of the most popular ones are www.yahoo.com or www.infoseek.com and www.lycos.com. Whenever a user decides to find a specific word or company or specific Internet address and the address where the data can be accessed is not known, the seeking engine must be used. The procedure is as follows:
First, the user has to get linked to the provider.
The browser is opened and the address of one of the seeking engines (i.e. www.yahoo.com) typed in the appropriate space.
On the screen of the seeking engine, there will appear a selection of the seeking areas of interest where the information we want can be collected. In case there are doubts about the topics where the information we are searching for belongs, we can type the word being searched for in the appropriate space and the search button clicks.
At that point, the seeking engine will show a list of the sites where the word typed is inserted. The list is arranged in such a way that the first address contains the highest percentage of the usage of the word. This means that the first selection has the highest probability of detecting the site required. Once one of the names is selected into the list, the user will automatically be transferred into the site and the information will be downloaded into the user's computer.
